Drain rock is clean, washed aggregate sized for drainage applications — perimeter drains, septic fields, French drains, and stormwater infiltration systems. The key difference from regular crushed rock is that drain rock is washed to remove all fines and screened to a tight gradation that maintains consistent void space for water flow. For septic fields, it must meet local health authority specifications.
