Bark mulch is shredded or chipped tree bark applied as a ground cover in landscaped areas. It suppresses weed growth, retains soil moisture, moderates soil temperature, and gives planting beds a finished appearance. Apply 2–4 inches deep. Breaks down over 1–3 years and adds organic matter to the soil as it decomposes.
