Pit run is aggregate taken directly from the pit with no processing — a natural blend of sand, gravel, and fines in whatever ratio the deposit produces. It is the cheapest aggregate available because there is no crushing or screening cost. Good for bulk fill, rough grading, and temporary roads where engineered specs are not required.
